Valid for 26MAY14 - 31MAR16: Shopping Centre Closure: Novotel Melbourne on Collins has commenced a redevelopment of the Australia On Collins Shopping Centre, located beneath the hotel, which is expected to be completed by 31 March 2016. Work will only be carried out within the shopping centre complex however some noise work will be heard from within the hotel with heightened noise levels through to June 2015 when demolition is being carried out. Internal windows in the public areas that look onto the complex will be frosted to minimise any visual effect on guests however some internal guest rooms will still be able to look down onto the work area. Scaffolding will be in place at the front of the building up to level 6 (lobby level of the hotel). From April to October 2015, the hotel entrance (separate to the Shopping Centre entrance) will be temporarily relocated next door with only one of the two lifts available to guests during this time. Hoarding is also in place to block the former stairwell to complex and around the pool area to prevent noise and dust as the pool was previous open to the complex. The pool remains available to guests throughout the redevelopment. Work will be carried out from Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 7.00pm and Saturdays between 7.00am and 3.00pm.
