The simple elegant wooden cabins are hidden in the She oak forest, and raised boardwalks lead to and from the central lodge that overlooks Great Oyster Bay.

Freycinet Lodge's trained staff offer daily excursions through Freycinet National Park - Birdwatching, Wildflower spotting or Searching for unique wildlife and sealife.

Walking to Wineglass Bay - just to sit and watch dolphins playing in the shallows or wallabies scamper the beach. Or you may choose to be on top of Cape Tourville to watch the dawn break over an ink black sea. There are many ways to explore the area - either with a guide or on your own.

There are secluded beaches; Honeymoon Bay or Sleepy Bay - to walk to or you may choose to explore them as you paddle the coast in a kayak. The local oysters are wonderful! The weather here is the mildest in Tasmania, so anytime of year offers its own experience.

Freycinet Lodge is located in the Freycinet National Park, approximately 2 kilometres from the park entrance.
Two and a half hours' drive from Hobart or Launceston.

From Launceston take the Midland Hwy (A1) to Campbell Town, turn left onto the Lake Leake Hwy (B34), then left again onto the Tasman Hwy (A3).
A spectacular view of 'The Hazards' on Freycinet Peninsula can be seen from a lookout just north of this junction.
About 15-20 minutes past the junction, turn right onto Coles Bay Road (C302).
Travel through Coles Bay to reach the entrance to Freycinet National Park.

From Hobart take the Tasman Hwy (A3) through Sorell, Triabunna and Swansea.
Spectacular views of the Freycinet Peninsula can be seen all along the coast just south of Swansea and again from a lookout north of Swansea.
About 15-20 minutes past the junction, turn right onto Coles Bay Road (C302).
Travel through Coles Bay to reach the entrance to Freycinet National Park.

Additional Information

Refurbishment:
-Freycinet Lodge will undergo a refurbishment of all cabins commencing 01 April 2008. Minimal noise including sawing and drilling is expected with only 4 cabins being refurbished at one time and these cabins will be closed off with temporary fencing. Dust is expected, mainly when floors are sanded prior to new flooring being laid.
- Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm with an expected completion date of 30 September 2008.

National Park Pass Fee:
- The National Park Pass fee at Freycinet is currently AUD22.00 per vehicle up to 24 hours. This is payable direct and is subject to change without notice.

Cancellation Policy

A fee of 14% of the total cost of your booking applies if cancelled plus the following charges below if applicable.

Valid for 01APR08-31MAR09:
- 1 night cancellation fee will be charged for bookings cancelled 24 hours or less prior to travel or in the event of a no-show.

Valid for 01APR09-31MAR10:
- 1 night cancellation fee will be charged for bookings cancelled 7 days or less prior to travel or in the event of a no-show.
