Special car hire rates are available to all Silky Oaks Lodge guests.

Car rental is also available through all major car rental companies from Cairns Airport and City. The trip takes approximately 90 minutes from Cairns.


Rail
Queensland Rail offers two Tilt Train and three Sunlander departures from Brisbane to Cairns. Guests arriving at Cairns rail station can choose between private car and self-drive transfers to Silky Oaks Lodge.


Private Car Transfer
Cairns Limousines offer a meet & greet service from Cairns Airport and the City. Cars depart daily on demand and seat up to three passengers with luggage.

Important information for Wedding Packages

Wedding Ceremony Confirmation Process:
- The wedding package consists of accommodation and a wedding ceremony.
- The accommodation portion and the wedding ceremony date and time will remain on a request basis (subject to availability).
- The wedding ceremony confirmation advice or notice of unavailability will be advised within 7 days of the initial accommodation booking confirmation. Once the wedding ceremony date and time have been confirmed booking advice confirming the wedding details will be forwarded.
- Please note that you may receive booking confirmation notices which will advise that the accommodation portion of the package has been confirmed, however these notices will not confirm the wedding ceremony unless otherwise indicated.

Legal Requirements:
The Celebrant requires:
- Bride and Groom's birth certificates.
- Intent to marry must be lodged at least one month and one day prior to ceremony date.

Non-refundable deposit:
- A 20% non-refundable deposit is required within 7 days of confirmation.

Cancellation Policy
A fee of 14% of the total cost of your booking applies if cancelled plus the following charges below if applicable.

Valid for 01APR08-31MAR09:
- No refund if cancelled 72 hours or less prior to travel or in the event of a no-show.

Wedding Package (includes accommodation) valid for 01APR08-31MAR09:
- No cancellation fee if booking cancelled 91 days or more prior to travel.
- 20% of deposit is kept as cancellation fee if cancelled between 90-31 days prior to travel.
- No refund if cancelled 30 days or less prior to travel or in the event of a no-show.

Child Policy
Valid for 01APR08-30JUN08: Child: 0-12 years inclusive - not catered for.
Valid for 01JUL08-31MAR09: Child: 0-12 years inclusive - free of charge if sharing with an adult and using existing bedding. Children eat free at the buffet breakfast.
