Its two galleries host exhibitions from local, regional and national artists side by side. Their 120-seater theatre is a multi-purpose venue, welcoming works of drama, comedy, film and music.

The centre is also home to the nationally-renowned urban dance program, Fresh Funk, and the award-winning Messengers Program, which promotes youth resilience, personal development and creative expression through various artistic mediums.

The Canberra Burns Club Highland Gathering and ACT Pipe Band Championships 2019

The Canberra Burns Club Highland Gathering is an annual free event, being held on Kett Street, Kambah Oval. The gathering offers a day of traditional Scottish activities including the ACT Pipe Band championships with bands from around Australia competing.

Enjoy the Scottish Highland Dancing Competition, Scottish themed markets and watch the many Pipe Bands compete in the ACT Pipe Band Championship. The Tartan Warriors provide an amazing exhibition of heavy athletics including the lifting of the heavy stones. There are many more activities and band displays held throughout the day.

Taste the food from a variety of food trucks including traditional Scottish food such as Haggis and more. Check out the many Clan tents and the Canberra Scottie Dogs, visit the children's corner for face painting and jumping castle and other activities. Concluding at 5pm with a final Massed Bands this is a fun day out for all the family.
