Rental Period:
- Rates are calculated on 24 hour periods. 
- A grace period of 59 minutes applies and thereafter a full days rental will be charged. This is payable direct to Avis by the renter at the time of rental.

Airport Locations:
Metropolitan - Adelaide, Avalon, Canberra, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney, Wynyard.

Country -  Albury/Wodonga, Ballina, Coffs Harbour, Port Augusta, Port Macquarie, Whyalla.

Remote - Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Broken Hill, Darwin, Olympic Dam.

Kilometre Allowance:
Metropolitan and Country Locations      All Vehicles - Rates include unlimited kilometres.
Remote Locations                                  All Vehicles - Rates include 100kms per day, excess kilometre charges at 27.5c per

Vehicles and Fleet Availability:
- Vehicle types given are for descriptive purposes only and may vary by location.
- Reservations are confirmed by vehicle group and not by specific make/model. 
- Not all Vehicle Groups are available at all locations.
- Group X is only available from State Capital Cities and Airport locations.

Age Requirements:
21 years of age: Group X, A, B, C and D vehicles.
25 years of age: Group E, F, V, K, W vehicles.
- A surcharge for renters 21-24 years of AUD27.50 per day will apply (to a maximum of AUD192.50), which is paid directly to Avis at the time of rental.

Drivers Licence Requirements:
- Avis Australia will rent to drivers that present a current drivers licence and have held that licence for 12 months.
- A Foreign licence must be in English or accompanied by an English translation and an international Drivers Permit.
- Avis Australia will not rent to any person on a Provisional or Probationary drivers licence.
Additional Drivers:
- Avis do not charge for additional drivers.
- It is essential that proof of a valid dirvers licence is provided and the additional driver signs the rental agreement.

Vehicle Registration Fee:
- The vehicle registration fee (VRF) is applicable to all Australian Rentals and is payable directly to Avis at the time of rental. 
- Vehicle registration fees are subject to change without notice.

Concession Recovery Fee:
- The Concession Recovery Fee (CRF) or Premium Location Surcharge (PLS) applicable at most Australian Airports varies between airports and may be up to 20%.
- This fee applies to all rates and additional charges.
- It will be payable directly to Avis at the time of rental unless included in the rate.

Insurance Cover and Excess Levels:
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)-
- LDW is the insurance coverage (included in the rate) provided on the rental vehicle and Third Party Property which is subject to the excess. LDW is also subject to terms and conditions detailed on the rental agreement.

Standard Accident Excess- when an Avis vehicle is involved in an accident-
- An excess is applicable providing the vehicle is used in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the rental agreement and the lows of the state. Failure to adhere to the Terms and Conditions and laws of the state will result in the renter being responsible for all damage and costs associated with the vehicle.

Excess Reduction Insurance can be purchased at selected Avis locations for all car groups as follows:

Applicable Vehicles - All Car / Leisure Groups, excluding Group K and W.
Excess 	- AUD1,950.00.
Excess Reduction (ER) - AUD19.80 per day reduces excess to AUD330.00.

Applicable Vehicles - Group K and W.
Excess 	- AUD5,500.
Excess Reduction (ER)- AUD33.00 per day reduces excess to AUD1,100.00.

One-Way Rental Policy: 
NSW, ACT, SA, VIC
- Non-Continuous Rentals less then 3 days (72 hours) incur a one-way rental fee. 
- One-way (GST Inclusive) rental fees are determined below and are payable direct to Avis.
- Not permitted on Group X vehicles and Group K & W vehicles are on a request basis only.

0-100 kilometres - AUD27.50.
101-200 kilometres - AUD55.00.
201-400 kilometres - AUD110.00.
401-1000 kilometres - AUD220.00.
1001+ kilometres - AUD330.00.

Western Australia
- One way rentals commencing and returning within Western Australia are available on a request basis only
- Local one way rental fees apply and are payable direct to Avis.

Rentals into/out of NT/Northern WA and other states
- Rentals commencing from specified airport and downtown locations in QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC and SA.       
may be driven one-way into the Northern Territory and Western Australia or Vice versa.
- One way rentals are permissible from Karratha, Port Headland, Broome and Kununurra to and from Perth, Darwin, Alice Springs and Ayers Rock.
- Minimum duration required for one-way rentals between these regions is 3 days (72hours).
- A non-waivable one way fee of AUD800.00 (incl GST) applies.
- One way rentals can be requested on the following vehicles only - Group C,D, E,F, W.

Restricted Driving Roads/Areas:
- The below detailed driving restrictions apply to all rentals.
- Should the Avis vehicle be driven over the restricted roads/areas detailed below, or on the Rental Agreement, Avis insurance will be void. 
- Vehicle hire is subject to satisfactory road and weather conditions at all times.

General:
- The vehicle must only be used on roads that are properly formed and constructed as sealed, metalled or gravel roads. 
- All vehicles, including Group K and W, cannot be driven on beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or floodwaters.
- Vehicles rented from Mainland Australia may not leave the Mainland and be taken to Tasmania or any other island.
- It is acceptable to take Avis vehicles on unsealed roads if travelling to a National Park or to accommodation where access is only by unsealed road or driveway. At all times it is subject to satisfactory road and weather conditions.

Queensland:
- Vehicles may not be driven beyond Chillagoe in a westerly direction.
- Vehicles may not be driven beyond Normanton in a southerly direction.
- Group K and W only may be driven as far north as Cooktown providing access is restricted to gazetted roads.
- Vehicles may not be driven on the Birdsville Track.
- Vehicles may not be taken on Fraser Island.
- Vehicles may only be driven on the main road to Cape Tribulation. If driven off the main road, or north of Cape Tribulation, insurance may be void.

Victoria, New South Wales and ACT:
- Vehicles may not be driven above the snow line in New South Wales and Victoria - being Jindabyne in New South Wales and Bright in Victoria, from the beginning of June until the end of September.

Western Australia:
- Rentals commencing in Western Australia south of Exmouth may not be driven north of Exmouth. Selected one way rentals accepted, refer to one way section.
- Vehicles may not be driven on the Gibb River Road (Kimberley).
- It is not recommented to travel on any road other than main highways 1 and 96 north of Geraldton.
- Mine access roads in the Pilbara are private and Avis rentals cannot be driven on these roads.

South Australia:
- Vehicles may not be driven on the Oodnadatta track.
- Vehicles may not be taken to Kangaroo Island.

Northern Territory:
- Vehicles may not be driven on the Jim Jim Falls or Twin Falls Roads (Kakadu) and the Gibb River Road (NT).

Into / Out of the Northern Territory / Western Australia:
- One-way rentals into/out of the Northern Territory/Western Australia are possible.Refer to the one-way rental section.

Driving through the Northern Territory and Western Australia:
- Vehicles rented from Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and South Australia may not be driven through the Northern Territory or Western Australia and vice versa. Selected one way journeys are permitted.Refer one way section.
- Besides selected one way journeys, should vehicles be driven through the Northern Territory or Western Australia, insurance will be void.

Baby Seats:
- Child Seats/Booster Seats are available on request at most Avis Locations. Charges are payable direct to Avis at the time of rental. Charges are subject to change without notice.
- Price includes administration fee, GST and Premium Location surcharge: Daily AUD5.50 per day / Maximum charge AUD27.50 per rental.
The laws for using child restraints and booster seats in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria: 
- Children aged under six months must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, rear facing child restraint.
- Children aged between six months and under four years must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, rear facing child restraint OR a forward facing child restraint with an in-built harness.
- Children aged between four years and under seven must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, forward facing child restraint with an in-built harness OR an approved booster seat which is properly positioned and fastened.
- For all other states and territories, only children up to the age of three years are required to be in a child seat.

Portable GPS:
- Portable GPS units are available on request from select locations.
- A rate of AUD10.95 per day or AUD54.95 per week applies and is payable direct to Avis at the time of rental.
- The standard accidental Loss Damage Waiver and Excess Reduction do not cover loss of, or damage to the GPS Unit. A separate charge will apply.
- One way rentals for GPS units are on a request basis only and a one way charge may apply.

Frequent Flyer Points:
- Frequen flyer points do not apply for these rates.

General:
- Should the current Tax Legislation, State or Federal, be revised, or Avis' operating costs increase due to the introduction of any tax revisions, Avis reserves the right to amend all charges without notice.

Pre-Payment of Miscellaneous Charges (including excess):
- All rentals are subject to a deposit at the time of vehicle collection to cover miscellaneous/optional charges, the applicable insurance excess and a AUD100.00 fuel bond. Deposit can be made by credit card or cash.
- Cash deposits are only accepted for Group X, A, B, C, D & E vehicles. Any other vehicle groups require a credit card for payment. Drivers under 25 years, leaving a cash deposit can only rent up to the group D vehicle.
Credit Card: The amount of the deposit is not debited to the card at rental collection; an authority only is taken until the conclusion of the rental when the applicable charges will be debited.
Cash: When the deposit is paid in cash any applicable refund will be made by Avis Australia company cheque.

Tolls:
- A number of motorways and city link roads in Sydney and Melbourne are electronic tolls only and do not have toll booths.
- For advice, please see an Avis Rental Sales Agent on collection of the vehicle.

Fuel:
- Avis rental vehicles are supplied with a full tank of petrol. If the renter returns the vehicle with less then a full tank, refuelling costs are payable directly to Avis by cash or credit card.

Hotel Deliveries:
- Avis will deliver cars to hotels within a 10km distance of an Avis location between the hours of 9:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday. All deliveries are 'on request' and are subject to the availability of staff. Deliveries are not possible if the renter is paying the deposit in cash. All Learmonth Airport rentals will incur a AUD27.50 surcharge (plus kilometres and fuel used) for collections and drop offs of vehicles. This charge is subject to change.
