Wooloowin

About 5km north of the vibrant centre of Brisbane City, Wooloowin is in easy striking distance of several places beloved of those who like a flutter - like the brilliant Doomben and Eagle Farm racecourses (they're about three or four kilometres to the east) and the Albion Park paceway and greyhound track.

There's a train into the city, where you can get some of the best seafood in the world... that is, after you've had a crack at the Treasury Casino, or wandered around the trendy South Bank complex, or taken a Brisbane River cruise.

Divided by Kedron Brook, Kalinga Park is basically open space, sprinkled with stands of ancient trees, while interesting rock formations stud the creek banks. The park also includes bicycle tracks, playground, sports facilities and grounds and BBQ-equipped picnic facilities.
