The small Murray River town of Wahgunyah is located just over the bridge from Corowa. The area is well known for having some of the states oldest and newest wineries including All Saints, Cofields and Valhalla. It is also home to the Uncle Toby's (Nestle) food processing factory.

Enjoy its many water sports on the Murray River including rowing, canoeing, fishing, water skiing and boating. Explore the walking trails around the recreational reserve and picnic spots in town and at Lake Moodemere. Alternatively cycle the Rail Trail Ride to Rutherglen or the Bridge to Bridge track.

Corowa Foreshore


No matter the season, there is always something to do along the Corowa Foreshore!

The Corowa Lagoon is the perfect place to launch your boat, take a dip in the Murray River, enjoy a family picnic on the lawn or the picnic tables provided, or try your luck and see if you can catch a Murray Cod.

Rowers Park also has a quiet launching facility just for your for canoes and kayaks and a lush lawn area perfect for a long lunch with the free to use barbecues. Right next door, the Rivalea fishing platform is a great spot to sit back and try your hand at catching the elusive Murray Cod or Golden Perch.

For some sporting action, John Foord Oval backs on to Rowers park and during Winter the Corowa - Rutherglen Kangaroos can be found during the season.

Corowa Apex Miniature Steam Train


The Apex Miniature Steam Train runs around Bangerang Park Corowa on the first Sunday of the month, weather permitting.
The train rides coincide with the Corowa Rotary Federation Farmers and Community Market and all proceeds go back into maintaining the train and tracks.

The train has run for many years and many parents are bringing their children to Corowa to relive the fun they enjoyed as children on the miniature train.

Corowa Civic Bowls Club

Art Space Corowa


The Corowa Art Space Collection showcases the prize winners in all sections of the annual Corowa Federation Art Show that have been acquired by the Federation Art Show Committee and held in trust by Corowa Shire Council for the past fourteen years.

The Corowa Art Space is the jewel in the crown of the Corowa Civic Building and the shire is proud to exhibit art works of local artists as well as their prize exhibition of Federation Art Show winners.

Corowa History Trail


Corowa is steeped in history, playing a significant role in the 1901 Federation of Australia. The Corowa History Trail is a self-guided walking tour around the historic buildings within Corowa.
Interpretive story boards tell the story of the Birthplace of Federation. Find the building that housed the Peoples Conference where the decision was made to propose that Australia become a Federation.

A self-guided historical map is available from the Corowa Visitor Information Centre and gives you the history of the beautiful old buildings in the town and their significance to The Federation Story, with a detailed map pointing out the historic buildings and sites.

Bangerang Park


Bangerang Park in centrally located at the bottom of Sanger Street in Corowa. The park features an all abilities play system which includes a twin tower and sky walk, sand and water play, balance and agility, spin dish, swings, sculptural pieces as well as musical items.

The playground is set within plantings of riparian foliage that compliments the senses. The design was inspired by the theme 'Life by the River' and colours of the River Redgum Environment and incorporates all abilities access and play for all ages. The play ground is surrounded by beautiful green grassed areas that are ideal for a picnic or lazing under the shade of the trees.

Wahgunyah: Events

41st Annual Corowa Swim-In and Military Vehicle Gathering


Annually on the Murray River at Corowa military vehicle enthusiasts gather in March for a week to display and use their military vehicles.

This is the largest gathering in the southern hemisphere and the event has been running since 1980. They have a theme each year and in 2020 it will be year of the Motorcycle and people with all types of military vehicles are encouraged to attend.

Corowa Easter Lawn Tennis Tournament


The Corowa Easter Lawn Tennis Tournament is a tennis tournament with Singles, Doubles and Mixed Events over four days. Categories include juniors to seniors, open, A, B and C grades and age events.

There is a canteen running all days selling cold drinks, tea and coffee, afternoon tea and a barbecue. There is strictly no bring your own (BYO) alcohol to this event.

Come along and watch the tennis with free viewing for people not playing in the tournament.
