Duncraig

Head north from Perth's CBD along the Mitchell Freeway and, after 16km or so, you'll reach the residential suburb of Duncraig.

This verdant suburb really began to buzz during the 1970s development boom and is now well established as a popular setting for family homes.

From the centre of Duncraig, it's just three kilometres west to Sorrento Beach and the big recreation and resort development of Hillarys Boat Harbour where you'll find the world famous Aquarium of Western Australia.

Originally called Underwater World, the internationally acclaimed aquarium has attracted more than 3.5 million visitors in its 13-year history. It is a marine facility where you can interact with dolphins in a special sanctuary and where qualified scuba divers can swim with the residents of the shark tank.

The aquarium"s Microworld allows you to use high-tech dive cameras to zoom in on tiny marine.

Popular Sorrento is so renowned for the beauty of the sunsets over the Indian Ocean that the local council has dubbed its highlight feature The Sunset Coast.
