Nollamara

They're sports mad out in Nollamara, a mainly residential suburb about eight kilometres north of Perth's CBD out along Wanneroo Road. It's an area full of sporting fields - catering for a wide variety of sports, but Aussie Rules and cricket are dominant - as well as parks and other wide-open recreation areas. Nollamara is about 10km east of city beaches and about the same distance west of the natural bushland of Whiteman Park - a popular recreation area full of lakes and pools, barbecue and picnicking areas and bushwalking trails. And, the park has something really special of a decidedly unnatural nature - the Tractor Museum of Western Australia. With more than 40 tractors on display, along with a heap of other pieces of farm machinery and implements, the museum is dedicated to promoting the hobby of tractor and machinery restoration while preserving and maintaining a 'working' collection to enable future generations to see, hear and smell the machinery that played such an important part in the agricultural history of WA.
